We are delighted to announce the second annual Cambridge GenAI and Education Conference, taking place on 27–29 October 2025.
Building on the success of its inaugural year, the conference brings together leading researchers, educators, technologists, and policy makers to explore the transformative role of Generative AI in education. With rapidly evolving tools and methods, this event provides a unique opportunity to share insights, exchange knowledge, and shape the future of teaching, learning, and assessment in the age of AI.
EdgeLab’s Role
EdgeLab is proud to be a partner in shaping the conference, contributing research and thought leadership on AI, systems thinking, and the future of learning. Our team will take part in panels and workshops, sharing perspectives from our work at the intersection of education, technology, and organisational innovation.
We are also delighted that Dr Steven Watson, EdgeLab co-founder, is serving as Conference Chair again this year, guiding the programme and ensuring a strong focus on the educational, social, and organisational implications of generative AI.
Conference Theme: Inclusion
The 2025 conference places inclusion at its heart—recognising both the opportunities and challenges of generative AI for learners across diverse contexts. Dr Watson’s recent position paper, Rethinking Inclusion in the Age of Generative AI (2025), highlights how AI tools can both bridge gaps—for example, by supporting neurodiverse learners and those from linguistically diverse backgrounds—and risk introducing new exclusions if not critically engaged with.
As Watson argues, “inclusion is not a destination but a process—an ongoing negotiation between learners, systems, and technologies”. This vision underpins the conference programme, which will encourage participants to ask: Whose meaning matters? Whose voice is amplified or obscured?
